Cheek Filler

Restores volume across the mid-face for a refreshed, lifted look.

Duration: 45 to 60 minutes
Downtime: Minimal
Prices from: £200

What is Cheek Filler

Volume in the cheeks softens gradually with time, and as it does the mid-face can start to look flatter or a little tired. Filler placed here restores some of that support and brings back a refreshed look, rather than changing the shape of your face.

We assess your proportions from the front and in profile and agree how much to place before starting. The aim is always a natural finish that still looks like you.

Benefits

What to expect

  1. We look at your face from the front and in profile to see where volume has softened and how the cheeks sit against the rest of your face. We talk through how much would give the better balance, check your medical history, and agree a plan before starting.

  2. The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied. Filler is then placed in small, measured amounts, using the technique your practitioner judges best for the area being treated. You may feel pressure as it goes in. The appointment takes 60 to 75 minutes.

  3. Downtime is minimal, but mild swelling or tenderness for a day or two is normal and a small bruise is possible. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for the first 24 hours, and try not to press or rub the treated areas while they settle.

  4. You should see a difference on the day, with the areas settling over the following week or two as any swelling eases. We will review the result with you and can make small adjustments if needed. Results are not permanent and soften gradually over time.

Frequently
asked questions

Everything you may want to know about cheek filler before your visit.

Most people find it very manageable. A numbing cream is applied first, and the cheeks tend to be less sensitive than the lips. You are more likely to feel pressure than sharp pain, and your practitioner will check in with you throughout.

Results vary from person to person. Filler in the cheeks tends to last longer than in the lips, because these areas move less, but how long it lasts depends on the product used, the amount placed and how quickly your body breaks it down. Rather than quote a figure that may not apply to you, your practitioner will give you a realistic idea for your plan at your consultation.

The aim here is balance rather than volume for its own sake, so we work with small amounts and build gradually. Some swelling in the first few days can make things look fuller than the settled result. If you would like a lighter or fuller look, that is something to raise at your consultation or your review.

Downtime is minimal and most people go straight back to their usual day. Mild swelling or tenderness can last a day or two, and bruising is possible. It is sensible to leave a couple of weeks before an important event.

Cheek and chin filler starts from £150, and the appointment is 60 to 75 minutes including your consultation. The final cost depends on the plan we agree, and we will confirm it with you before any treatment goes ahead.

Often yes, as the two areas work together to shape the lower face, and treating both can give a more balanced result. Whether that is the right approach for you is decided at your consultation. In some cases we may suggest treating one area first and reviewing before doing more.
