What is Fat Dissolving
Fat dissolving treats small, defined pockets of fat that stay put despite diet and exercise, such as under the chin or on the flanks. It is not a weight loss treatment and it is not a substitute for one.
Swelling afterwards is expected and can be noticeable for several days, so it is worth planning around. More than one session is usually needed, and we will set out a realistic plan at your consultation.

What to expect

We look at the area you are concerned about and check whether it is the kind of small, defined fatty pocket this treatment can help with. It is not a weight-loss treatment, so we will be straightforward about whether it suits you and roughly how many sessions might be realistic.

Once you are happy to go ahead, the area is cleaned and marked, then a series of small injections is placed into the fatty pocket. You may feel stinging or warmth for a few minutes. Allow about 60 minutes, which covers preparation and a little time to settle afterwards.

Swelling in the treated area is expected and is a normal part of how this treatment works. It is usually most noticeable in the first few days and eases over the following week or two, sometimes with tenderness or firmness. Avoid heat, massage and strenuous exercise for a day or two.

Changes come on gradually rather than overnight, and most people need more than one session, spaced a few weeks apart. We review the area before booking each one so we only treat what is needed. Results vary from person to person and we will keep being honest about what is achievable.
