What to expect

We start by looking properly at your scalp and hair, and talking through what has been changing and what you are hoping for. Dr Mari will check that hair filler is a sensible option for you, explain what it can realistically support, and agree a plan before anything begins.

Allow around 60 minutes. Your scalp is cleansed first, then the product is delivered through a series of small injections across the areas being treated, working section by section. Most people find it very manageable, with brief stinging or a feeling of pressure as we move across the scalp.

Downtime is minimal. Your scalp may feel slightly tender or look a little pink for a few hours, so it is best left alone for the rest of the day. Your practitioner will tell you when to wash your hair again, and which products and heat styling to hold off on in the meantime.

Hair filler is designed to work gradually, so any change tends to build over a course rather than after one session. Results vary from person to person. We will look at your scalp again between sessions and be honest with you about whether it is worth continuing.

Hair filler at Roniya starts from £160 per session, and you should allow around 60 minutes for the appointment. The final cost depends on the plan we agree together, so you will be given a clear price at your consultation before committing to anything.
Not straight away. It is best to leave the scalp alone for the rest of the day, and Dr Mari will tell you exactly when to wash your hair and when you can go back to heat styling and your usual products. Following that advice gives the treatment the best chance to do its job.
This is not a treatment that changes anything overnight. Any difference in how your hair looks and feels tends to show over the weeks of a course rather than after a single session, and results vary from person to person. We will review it with you honestly as you go.
No, which is why we assess it first. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is an infection or active irritation on the scalp, and there are other situations where we would suggest something else or ask you to speak to your GP. Suitability is always decided at consultation.
